Roosevelt High School issued the following announcement on Nov. 21.

Congratulations to our TWO Beat the Odds Scholars!

Jayla Washington & Zubeda Chaffe will each recieve a $5000 scholarship from the Children's Defense Fund.

Neither have decided where they'll be going next year...stay tuned!!
