Patients at several Minnesota hospitals will still be able to see their family and friends in spite of social distancing and quarantine orders in place after receiving a donation from the Geller Foundation for Patient Safety, according to CBS Minnesota.
The Geller Foundation has donated 75 tablets so that patients can still communicate, as they aren’t permitted to have visitors.
Linda Axelrod of the foundation said, “I thought maybe some of the local hospitals might want a few of them. It sounds like there really is a need for it here. Anything we can do to make things a little bit easier for these patients and their families we would love to be able to do it.”
One of the hospitals greatly impacted is North Memorial Hospital, where several patients are on ventilators for weeks because of breathing issues.
