Sen. Mary Kiffmeyer recently published an op-ed stating how unique the 2020 elections will be in the history books.
"While some races are still being decided, the 2020 election is by-and-large in the books," Kiffmeyer wrote. "For many, the work will continue as they prepare to transition into their new roles at the various levels of government. For others, the campaign is over and they will return to their normal, pre-campaign lives, but with a new appreciation for the process."
Kiffmeyer also highlighted that she feels the same disappointment that many residents do regarding the election results and writes that any candidate willing to step up to the plate is a winner.
"I know many of you who came up short may have been disappointed by the result," Kiffmeyer wrote. "You may even feel it wasn’t worth the time, energy, money or effort. Let me assure you: Nothing can be further from the truth. No matter the outcome, every candidate is a winner for stepping up to the plate and saying, 'I am willing to serve.'”
