First half of 2022: Home prices in Independence fell

The median sale price of a home sold in the first half of 2022 in Independence fell by $133,475 while total sales increased by 18.8 percent, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through June, there were 19 homes sold, with a median sale price of $499,900 - a 21.1 percent decrease from the $633,375 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 16 homes sold in Independence in the first half of 2021.

The median sales tax in Independence for the most recent year with available data, 2019, was $5,374, approximately 1.1 percent of the median home sale price for the first half of 2022.
