Making friends comes easily to Edward Adamski, a 95-year-old World War II Navy veteran who is always up for a game of cards or giving people rides to appointments or to run errands. Age is no barrier for this Bloomington resident.
“When you grow up in the Depression, you learn to help people,” Adamski shared. “You would be surprised at how many friends you can have.”
Adamski may be nearing a century, but that isn’t slowing him down. A resident of Bloomington for the past 20 years, he is a regular at Creekside Community Center’s Monday canasta games and, if asked, readily shares his lengthy daily to-do list.
Resident and friend Chris Uting is inspired by Adamski and what she sees in him. “Bloomington should be very proud of having such a resident. Those of us who live in the same building with him depend on him for many things. He has helped numerous residents and our community in many ways.”
