Hopkins Public School District: MCA and MTAS Reading results for 2021-22 school year

Hopkins Public School District ranked ninth in the Hennepin County for test participation, with 2,909 students taking the Reading portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of Hopkins Public School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year rose by 42% over the previous year.

Hopkins Public School District's students achieved an average Reading proficiency rate of 52% in 2021-22 school year.

Sixth grade students stood out with 26% of them exceeding standards in Reading, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, 10th-grade students had the most room for improvement, with 36% not meeting the expected standards.

Hopkins Public School District encompasses schools within Hennepin County and has a main office in Hopkins.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the Nation’s Report Card showed Math and Reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.
