How did Minnetonka Public School District students do on 2021-22 MCA and MTAS Math tests?

Minnetonka Public School District ranked fourth in the Hennepin County for test participation, with 5,739 students taking the Math portion of the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment and the Minnesota Test of Academic Skills in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Minnesota Department of Education.

The number of Minnetonka Public School District students taking the tests in the 2021-22 school year rose by 12.3% over the previous year.

Minnetonka Public School District's students achieved an average Math proficiency rate of 72% in 2021-22 school year.

Fourth grade students stood out with 49% of them exceeding standards in Math, which was the highest recorded proficiency at the district.

On the other hand, 11th-grade students had the most room for improvement, with 14% not meeting the expected standards.

Minnetonka Public School District encompasses schools within Hennepin County and has a main office in Minnetonka.

Minnesota students take the MCA annually (or the MTAS, for students with cognitive disabilities) to determine their academic readiness. Not every grade is tested each year.

Analysis from the Nation’s Report Card showed Math and Reading scores have fallen significantly in the last decade. Science scores have been steady in recent years.

Minnesota Department of Education issues could lead to data irregularities.
