Minnesota State Representative Andrew Myers has been recognized by the Minnesota Grocers Association for his leadership in supporting food shelves across the state. Myers, who represents District 45A, has a long history of volunteering at local food shelves and currently serves on the board of one such organization. This experience has influenced his legislative work at the Capitol.

“Our neighbors shouldn’t have to wonder where their next meal is coming from,” Myers said. “Minnesotans step up for each other, and when we work together, we can make sure families have what they need to get through tough times.”

Myers is urging residents to continue supporting local food shelves by donating or volunteering. He highlighted organizations such as Westonka Community Food Shelf in Mound, ICA Food Shelf in Minnetonka, and PROP Food Shelf in Eden Prairie as examples that rely on community involvement throughout the year.

“Even a few hours of volunteer time or a small donation can make a meaningful difference,” Myers said. “When we support our food shelves, we strengthen our communities and help ensure all of our neighbors have the opportunity to thrive.”
