The state legislature had a productive session this year. In addition to approving Bloomington City Council’s request to allow Bloomington voters to weigh in on a half-cent local option sales tax many other legislative decisions will have an impact in Bloomington.
The City of Bloomington was awarded with a 2023 Sustainable City Award by the League of Minnesota Cities at the League’s Annual Conference, held in Duluth. The City was honored for its bulky item management program.

Rep. Dean Phillips (MN-03) introduced the bipartisan Allergen Disclosure In Non-Food Articles (ADINA) Act. The bill was named in honor of Adina Togal, an 11 year old from Minnesota, who was hospitalized after taking medication with undisclosed allergens.
