Hennepin County Library issued the following announcement on Sept. 17.
Slow Roll Baby! We are celebrating back to school with a special Library Connector Slow Roll, "Midtown Read and Roll" hosted by our favorite book lovers at Hennpin County Libraries - East Lake Street, Walker and the newly remodeled Hosmer Library. We will meet on the Midtown Greenway at Freewheel Bike Center near the 10th Ave entrance to the Midtown Greenway at 9:00 am.
(Enter the Greenway between 28th st and Lake St. on 10th
ave or 11th Ave South, walk down the stairs to the Midtown Greenway bike trail - it will about 25 yards on your right)
We will explore the community, our Libraries' history, new offerings, and future opportunities. As with every Slow Roll, we finish with an amazing community meal, music and story telling.
Come and experience the musical flow of some the cities best DJ's setting the rhythm, enjoy beautifully prepared food from Zamaya Delicious and a tour of the beautiful Southside.
First-timers are welcome and if the only reason you are not coming is a BIKE - SEND US A MESSAGE - WE GOT YOU!
We are official Ride of the Cultural Wellness Center and we are supported by our partners at Hennepin County and Nice Ride for All. This ride is partially funded by the State Health Improvement Partnership (SHIP).

- Meet us at 9:00 am for meet & greet, registration and bike tune-ups
- At 9:30 am we'll leave Freewheel to Read and Roll.
- We return by 12:00 pm to enjoy the music, the food and the afterglow of a beautiful ride in our community with friends and family.
Slow Roll is a group bicycle ride that meets weekly in the Twin Cities, It is part of a national network of community rides that started in Detroit.
