CITY OF PLYMOUTH: Offers Services For Seniors And Caregivers

Caregiver

City of Plymouth issued the following announcement on Oct. 24.

The City of Plymouth partners with Senior Community Services to offer programs and support for seniors and their caregivers.

Caregiver Support Group

Caregiver support group meets 10-11:30 a.m. every third Wednesday of each month at the Plymouth Creek Center, 14800 34th Ave. N. This free group connects caregivers with a community of peers to promote self-care, as well as quality of care for the older adult. The group provides a place to share experiences, struggles and coping strategies, and learn from others.

Caregiver Coaching

Caregiver coaching provides caregivers access to a licensed social worker. Emphasis is placed on equipping caregivers with the knowledge, skills and tools to perform their roles while maintaining a balanced lifestyle. Coaching is by appointment and cost is based on a sliding scale model.

  • Assistance finding affordable resources for chores, financial help, personal care, activities, medical issues, legal issues and more
