City of Plymouth issued the following announcement on Feb. 19.
The City of Plymouth is set to hold “Riding Out the EAB Wave,” a presentation about Emerald Ash Borer, 7-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 10 at the Plymouth Creek Center's Black Box Theatre, 14800 34th Ave. N.
Plymouth residents are invited to attend the free presentation to ask questions and learn more about the options available to them. Presenters include city forestry staff and commercial tree service representatives.
The first case of Emerald Ash Borer in Plymouth was confirmed in 2015. The small, invasive insect infects ash trees and spreads quickly, typically killing a majority of ash trees in its path.
The presentation will answer the following questions regarding EAB:
- How does it spread?
- What is the city doing to slow down this infestation?
- What should residents be doing with their own ash trees?
- What options/methods do commercial tree care companies offer?
