City Of Edina issued the following announcement on Aug. 14.
Hennepin County authorized gas main work on France Avenue beginning Monday, Aug. 15. CenterPoint Energy’s authorized contractor, Michels Corporation, will start replacing gas mains on France Avenue from 60th Street W. to Highway 62. It is anticipated that the main replacement will take approximately three weeks. Another Michels Corporation crew will connect the service lines and move inside meters outside for an additional two weeks. Restoration will follow.
During this work, there will be two-way traffic maintained on France Avenue with a lane shift. The only road closure will be at 60th Street W. and detour signs will lead drivers to Halifax Avenue.
