CITY OF HOPKINS: A Metro Transit public engagement process is underway to gather input and feedback on potential changes to the Route 17 local bus route.

City Of Hopkins issued the following announcement on Feb. 06.

A Metro Transit public engagement process is underway to gather input and feedback on potential changes to the Route 17 local bus route.

As part of their Better Bus Stops program, Metro Transit is seeking to improve rider experience by reducing stops, improving accessibility, and providing more shelters in order to make trips better, faster, and more reliable.

Route 17 enters Hopkins at its western end and has eight stops located along Blake Road, Lake Street, Van Buren Avenue and Cambridge Street. One stop on Blake Road is proposed to be removed due to low average daily boardings and the presence of two other stops within 500 feet of the stop.
