Rep. Andrew Myers has been recognized as a 2025 Legislator of Distinction by the League of Minnesota Cities for the second year in a row. The award is given annually to lawmakers who demonstrate accessibility, responsiveness, and collaboration in working with state and local governments. Recipients are nominated by city officials and League staff based on their engagement with municipal leaders and support for legislation that meets the needs of cities across Minnesota.

As co-chair of the Suburban Solutions Caucus, Rep. Myers has contributed to developing solutions for issues affecting suburban communities. His involvement on the House Housing Committee was noted as particularly significant. He was recognized for regularly reaching out to city leaders, local government staff, and representatives from the League of Minnesota Cities to ensure that suburban concerns were considered in discussions about housing availability, zoning reform, and land use planning.

A spokesperson from the League stated: “Rep. Myers has demonstrated an ongoing commitment to listening to and working with local leaders across the political spectrum. His collaborative style, paired with a deep understanding of the challenges cities face, makes him a strong ally for local governments and a model legislator.”

During the 2025 legislative session, Rep. Myers played an important role in shaping policies focused on improving housing affordability and increasing flexibility for local governments regarding zoning decisions. His efforts supported reforms intended to expand housing options while maintaining local control over development.

In his remarks accepting the award, Rep. Myers highlighted the value of partnerships between state and local governments and reiterated his dedication to practical policymaking centered on community needs.
