Plastic bags are a major source of contamination in our lakes and oceans where they can be mistaken as food by birds and fish. They are also a common contaminant in regular recycling bins, as they get stuck in the sorting machines, so it is best to avoid using plastic bags to bag your recycling.

CITY OF HOPKINS: Heads up, coffee lovers: Beginning in January 2023, the Depot Coffee House will be reducing hours for the winter season.
The Coffee House will be open on Saturday and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. only. Coffee operations will resume normal hours on May 1.

Each winter, Hopkins Public Works wraps fire hydrants along county roads and main City routes with clear plastic bags to protect them from deterioration and corrosion due to salt and other chemicals used throughout winter.

CITY OF HOPKINS:Good news! Excelsior Boulevard is now open in both directions following the completion of the Excelsior LRT bridge over the roadway.
Crews will continue to work through the winter, including installing LRT track. In the future, there may be short term closures of Excelsior Boulevard while crews finish the LRT bridge, however, long duration closures are not currently expected.

The Hopkins Police Department has joined together with the Hopkins Fire Department, the Hopkins Rotary, and the Hopkins Business and Civic Association -HBCA to once again deliver Thanksgiving meals, provided by Driskill's Downtown Market, to those in need.
